Jumbo collage from yesterday's trip to Anglesey Abbey with my friend Elizabeth. The dahlias are planted more or less as I've posted them rather than being mixed up. It's a dramatic display but I think I would quite like them to go back to a hotchpotch of mad colours some years. Sadly some are in the shade but you get the idea. Gardeners amongst you may be interested to know that they are all set in the ground in quite small pots (6 or 7 "?) although the plants are about 5' high.
Three good things:
1. Lovely sunshine compensating for the chilly wind.
2. Walked Monty with my friend Rebecca - haven't seen her in ages and she always makes me happy.
3. I've tidied out our little junk room - not perfect but you can see the floor.
I'm with Janna re it being a lovely wall hanging. Marvelous colors and brightness to get one through the coming winter. Where did you find the template for the collage or did you create that too?
Love the graduating in colour dahlias & then the most beautiful of them all in the bottom right, dahlia Elizabeth I presume!!!!
Sun here today but showery in between & cold!!!!! Good to see a friend everyday!!!!!!
OK, I see, I can upload a shotin my project and then hit "edit in pick monkey". But I don't see where the collage templates are. and did you upload all your dahlias individually and if so, what did you do about the dates so they werent rejected?
They are stunning, my Dad always grew these. No doubt the pots (although I agree they are tiny) are so the tubers can easily be taken up for the winter. Love the collage - and your cheery shot of your friend!
@judithg I go to PicMonkey.com rather than via 365 and on the home page there are two options - one for collages. I upload the photos and then start playing with the template. When you save the date switches to first of the month but when you upload to 365 you can change the date - no good for theme competitions but that's all!!
That's a great way to display all the dahlias. We visited Dream Garden in Dunster which is almost exclusively dahlias and they are also planted out in pots.
@tishpics Yes though I think they may sell them off as the gardener was telling somebody that they always start with fresh stock - bigger budget than I've got!
I've been to Anglesey Abbey in the winter as they have a beautiful winter garden. My sister lives quite near.

I like the way you graded the colours.
ok not quite the right song words, but hey judith the image is very uplifting and deserves a song of praise :)
