I'm sure you're all bored to death with spiders by now but I couldn't resist this one which was visibly sucking the guts out of the poor fly. I touched the web trying to get behind it and close enough for my macro attachment thing to focus and it wriggled grumpily away.
Three good things:
1. Skype call with my daughter who is happy to have started getting on with some work and seems to have a really nice group of friends already.
2. The sun was out - we are very lucky and I'm thinking about 365ers in the North today.
3. I've bought some material so I can put the new machine through its paces.
Lots of lovely good things & thank you for the thoughts but we survive !! A very witty title Judith & it all looks very disgusting, the sun shining in just the right place on the web.
Excellent shot and lighting. Exciting news about the fabric. Where did you buy it - there's not so much choice in Cambridge. However, there's a little fabric shop we pass as we come out of the Arts theatre - as we did tonight - but I haven't been in yet. (Sorry can't remember the name but I'm sure you will know it.) Went to see Relatively Speaking with Felicity Kendall - excellent.
Beautiful capture! I love spider shots! It is always such a gift to find one, especially 'in action'! And you can't walk away from a gift. The lighting is so good, colors are great!!
"Will you walk into my parlor?" said the Spider to the Fly,
"'Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to show you when you are there."
"Oh no, no," said the Fly, "to ask me is in vain;
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."
(As I said to @fueast, I couldn't resist).
@busylady I got some half price from John Lewis but Callico next to the Arts has beautiful stuff so when I know what I'm doing.... I get frustrated by the lack of material - growing up in Preston we had stall after stall of fabric on the market - mostly odd rolls of 'names' like M&S and Sanderson that had come from the mills around Central Lancs and were bargain prices. There's a very good shop in Willingham I may venture out to but they are mostly quilting supplies rather than dress fabric I think.
