Woo Hoo!!! by judithg

Woo Hoo!!!

Very exciting news last night as my talented chum Rebecca Patterson won (yes WON!) the Roald Dahl funny prize in the under 6 category for her book, 'My Big Shouting Day' ('My Big No No No Day' in the US and other parts of the world where toddlers don't shout). And today she's all over the press and t'internet and well deserved too (The Telegraph website in this case). She nearly missed the event due to a sick boy but was persuaded by her wise husband to go along with her daughter who inspired the book (and doesn't shout at all now of course - ever). And tomorrow we will walk dogs and gossip about celebs :0)
Three good things:
1. Funny books
2. I have disinfected the husband after his trip to Yorkshire.
3. After another operation the poor little cat has had ANOTHER long sharp blade of grass removed - this time from her nose which was ulcerated and infected. At last she should be cured - and I've put the plant in the green recycling bin...
Hooray

November 7th, 2012
Congrats to your friend and glad your cat on the mend. Nice shot of them. Is this a silly question. Why does your husband need disinfecting after Yorkshire visit?
November 7th, 2012
Congratulations to Rebecca. I'll recommend it to my grands and great grands. My 5 year old grandson read me a book on Skype!! I love children's literature.
November 7th, 2012
@jennywren Only because I'm from Lancs - I thought @fueast might rise to the bait but she visited before I'd changed it to the disinfection one!!
November 7th, 2012
@judithg So it's still the wars of the roses! So funny.
November 7th, 2012
Did you do it before he came though?
November 7th, 2012
@fueast We have a sheep dip pen in on the drive for emergencies. Actually we'll be having to do that to save the ash trees - have you been washing Poppy's feet. Seems like after the horse has bolted to me - Woodland Trust have been banging on to the government for ages.

@bpaquette And they have to pass the pug-test so I'm sure Kylie would manage to keep her eyes open (maybe!)

Ooh Hooray for Rebecca & it reminded me to do something I meant to do weeks ago & order this book. Slightly surprised to see it said usually delivered in 6 to 8 weeks but Amazon are very quick so have ignored that!!!! Max will love it as he loves My Big swim. That prize is so well earned & what an honour....well done Rebecca!!!!! If they are selling badges I will order one!
Your three things gave me a good laugh & even though it hurt that did me so much good!!! The second is priceless & of course essential!!
Poor little cat & glad you have thrown out the torture instrument Judith!!!!!
