Well probably not enough in reality! Weather very uninspiring again so when I decided to make my first batch of mince pies (very early - I don't usually do any before December) I thought I'd take a nice crumbly photo. Then I overdid them slightly and couldn't spare any OK ones to break in half and then after a couple of shots my first guest arrived. So there you go - excuses made.
Three things to be thankful for:
1. Good friends round for tea and pies
2. Offspring happy with various test/essay results
3. Paramedics and on-the-ball teachers for helping a pupil at Adam's school. Not somebody he really knows but it's a close community and everybody is praying whether via a faith or not.
@judithg you don't need to tell me - they all talk funny that way!! :o) what I want to know is why we had our training in the Welsh office when there wasn't one Welsh person there...someone is out to get us!!
your mince pies look lovely judith ....mice pies are my fave christmas 'pudding / sweet'...knock the spots of pudding and cake !!!.....nice post processing special effects :)
I would stand in line for one of your "overdone" pies. Those look absolutely yum-y-licious!! Lucky were the guests at your house. :) This photo is totally cooking magazine worthy.
Does each person get a whole one?!?! Oh yum, I haven't had mince in years as I am the only one in the fam that likes it. I actually made my own from a recipe using green tomatoes and it was quite good.
Not overdone one bit Judith, the pastry has to be crisp!!! You put me to shame as I had been & bought some Booths ready made ones yesterday! Love the robin & snow & of course your DOF & idea!! Fave!
Looking good :) I always do my first batch on Dec 1st as my official start to the Christmas season - not sure if I'll have the motivation this year, but am feeling playing with pastry might be therapeutic ......
