I took Adam to school this morning just so I could stop and take some snow photos but the grey dawn was not attractive. So I took Monty over to The Backs while the sun was being lovely this afternoon and had another go. Not much snow left but enough for a frosting. The Christmas Eve Carol service is being recorded at King's College Chapel today so I thought it was a suitable shot. They do the whole thing again on Christmas Eve without cameras and I listen to the radio version while boiling giblets and eating mince pies - my favourite part of Christmas I think! Poor @sparkle had a less successful brush with snow this morning - hope the day improved!
Thanks to everybody who has continued to comment on my shots while I've been rubbish - I am managing a bit of late night commenting and should have more time at the weekend but I really do appreciate your efforts at this busy time.
Three good things:
1. Photo calendars ordered - hurrah!
2. Waitrose have successfully delivered a very nice-looking hamper
3. Receiving beautiful photos from @jannaellen :0)
@fueast Photobox - we always do them there - has some irritating features but the outcome is usually good. I haven't got time to be too obsessive this year. You got a whole year's worth of sheep - awesome - as they say across the pond...
@judithg No I didn't have - had to use a couple of landscape shots to fill in. I sent mine to photobox - maybe beause I heard you mention them before? - but £16 seemed quite a lot...
I like A cloud in the Sky & I thought it was done on purpose! I will miss Carols from Kings this year ah well I can't complain!!!!
Oh blow me I have just seen the cloud!!!!!!! Proper photos you can hold?
@happypat Yes - the real deal!! I was glad to see Rachel has the wall of her room covered - she got loads free from somebody - Photobox I think. We should print more....she says thinking of the NY series still waiting to be printed!
I have been watching Master Chef tonight & the two chefs were at The Midsummer House in Cambridge. Have you ever eaten there, would have to be for a very special occasion. The plates he used cost £65 each alone , you would need to extend the mortgage to eat there ...a ten course tasting meal!!!! Some nice views of Cambridge.
@happypat I've been once for a friend's 40th - a big group. They paid for the taster meal for everybody (very generous) and we paid for the alcohol if I remembered rightly. Very nice food but they tidy your napkin when you nip to the loo and I didn't like that!
Lovely atmospheric and topical shot! I too always listen to the service on the radio Christmas Eve while setting up the table for my husband's BIRTHDAY dinner!!
What heavenly blue. Love the layers in this shot. Especially the blue. Or maybe it's the green. Or maybe the brown stuff in the front. Anyway, it's nice to view this in my warm home because it looks quite chilly!
Looks like a lovely winter's day even with the frosty foreground. That little puff of a cloud is a scene stealer despite the magnificence of the chapel. :)
Lovely scene with that sprinkling of snow.
Oh blow me I have just seen the cloud!!!!!!! Proper photos you can hold?
