If yesterday's shot was at 12 o'clock from my vantage point in the puddle on Jesus Green this one is at 4 o'clock. The trees and hedgerow mark the edges of the open air swimming pool. At 100 yards long it is unheated and very popular in the summer (not this year as we didn't really do summer). In the winter it is closed but people still manage to break in and swim in the rainwater that collects. Sometimes they manage to drown in it - usually middle aged/older people rather than kids. It's a shame it's not financially viable to keep it open for mad people who like cold winter swimming. It's supposed to be exhilarating but I'd take some persuading. Behind the pool is the river with lots of house boats and the house in the photo is on the far side of Chesterton Road which runs alongside the river. I was surprised to see it and had to wait for a few buses to go past to take the shot.
Three good things:
1. I'm making progress with the calendar so should be back properly soon.
2. Rachel home on Saturday :0)
3. Nigel out at an executive dinner so Adam and I had sausage and beetroot sandwiches for tea - mmmm.
@fueast The low part of that hedge is about 8 feet tall so I couldn't stare in - in fact you have to climb through a lot of hedge to see the swimming pool and I think I'd be arrested taking photos of it. Maybe the house wanted a view of the park!
I like that you have kept this house in the distance Judith some might have been tempted to crop it but you have kept the narrow vista which looks good. Rachels first term gone already!!!!!
A tasty easy tea ....perfect!
I am loving Google Maps satellite views - now am seeing what the area looks like from above...thanks for the descriptions so I can get my bearings! The spot of sun is perfect in this shot.
Nice to see the house peeping through the hedge and the sky is suitably interesting to set it off. Are you doing an on-line calendar? We used Vista print.
I think you and Barbara @bpaquette should be working for the CIA and the British equivalent. :) Lovely peek at the house through the hedge. I know you must be looking forward to Rachel's homecoming!
