Ugghh - so frustrated today. We had a beautiful heavy frost in our garden and along the road so I waited until dawn to feed the hens, fed the dog, woke Rachel to tell her she was in charge of deliveries and de-iced the car and fed a parking meter for a photo trip to St John's College. But alas and alack - hardly any frost at St John's! So I gamely took a lot of rubbish cobwebs and branches that could have been anywhere, practically got frostbite in my fingers and went home - passing a gloriously frosty Jesus Green back to our gloriously frosty road. One mile away what's with that? After a very brief journey into the ironing I took Rachel into town to advise while she bought her dad's birthday present and ended up on the top floor of the car park which had spectacular views of frosty Cambridge and lots of smokey chimneys - but no camera :0( So I'm afraid you've got a boring shot - chosen because the man looks like he's peeping round the corner. The man and grass are sepia-ed - the rest is natural.
Three good things:
1. Beautiful tree up - chosen, erected and decorated by the females of the house - unusual as we normally leave all that lugging around to the boys. The big holder with lots of water capacity I was persuaded to buy leaks. And you can't get in to scoop the water back out. So I had to grapple with transferring it to the old holder. Next year it's a boys' job again.
2. Monty has had his Christmas haircut and is worn out.
3. Only 95% of the ironing still to do... I'll comment eventually...
Great shot though :) I also missed the best of the frost as medication is still making me super sleepy so was mostly gone by the time I surfaced :S Were your good vies from Park Street car park?
@katharinehubbard Grand Arcade which was half closed due to ice - but for some reason the top floor was open... I intend sleeping through all frost just as soon as school finishes.
I love that new verb...to be sepia-Ed. Wonder what I would look like! This may be boring to you but I really like the peerer and the detail on this building that to my eyes is stunning. I get you re missing the frost shots though. I missed rainbow and fabulous light and clouds this morning
Lovely shot, nice symmetry.
I rushed out to get some frosty shots, not realising that I had picked up my sons camera, so it was hit and miss with the settings and what I shot. So, there you go, it must have been one of those days !!!
Such beautiful architecture, that arch is just perfect. Love the peeping figure! Good luck with the ironing - I made myself completely empty the basket the other day and found things at the bottom from holiday over a year ago!
Well I guess that's what you get for living so close to a town centre - it's warmer! I like your shot though - pity about the frost. I made the dog walk all the way down to the park this morning so that I could get some frosty shots - even took some 'cobwebs that could have been anywhere'!
The detail and grandeur of this Beautiful collage is amazing, not boring. It was so cold and foggy here I didn't venture out , I took a photograph of the completed piece work my husband made on the forge.( it's a present for Helen don't tell her)
it's a beautiful shot judith with lovely tones and warmth.....oh err about the leaking water holder ............we've got to see monty's christmas haircut :)
Even though I would have loved to see all those frosty shots I think this shot is marvellous - it looks like it's going on and on into the distance. And as always I just love the Cambridge architecture!
Must be something in the air - I've had a frustrating day too.
