We had a good think about where on earth we could walk the dog that would be reasonable underfoot (Rachel doesn't have wellies as her previous pair which I borrowed got a hole in them so I threw them away and bought myself a pair instead!) and plumped for Wimpole Hall. Most of Cambridgeshire had the same idea and it was like a motorway through the sheep fields - which were very muddy indeed. We parked up by chance behind one of my fellow governors and his family and they went in one direction while we went in another. Freakily we both arrived back at our cars at the same time - they had about a foot of mud on their boots so we did think that at least we'd chosen a better route than them! In this shot even Father Christmas is having to climb over the fence to avoid the mud bath around the gate.
Three good things:
1. Christmas Day leftovers
2. I got a lovely photo of Nigel and Rachel (Adam was at home revising again :0( ).
3. Aspirin
Edited by Adam who said it needed to be B&W - but I said I needed Santa to be red...
Great shot Judith - love the commentry too! I love Wimpole Hall, haven't been there in a while! reminds me of school trips! nothing like a good walk on Boxing Day. It was far too hot to walk in Dubai, so I had a swim instead!!
Judith, Boxing day walks are essential :) ...we always do one ...and an early start for us to miss the crowds ....the selective colouring works well .....I hope you climbed that fence with the same "agility" as shown by the youngsters in the shot :)
It's rather an uncompromising pose of the lady straddling the fence. Hope she made it! We had our walk on Christmas day as we had our family round for Christmas dinner today instead.
We considered leaving the house - but it looked so miserable out there, we gave up with that idea.
