I don't know if it was of course but I'd like to speculate on a likely publication. 'Cycling Weekly' perhaps. Taken last week because today's walk encompassed a trip to the vet for vaccinations and was pretty boring. A poor distraught couple there having their cat put to sleep (the kind vet told them to go straight home and pay at a later date) and a distraught son after exams went predictably badly given the state of his poorly head. So I shall have to think of three good things - this is when positive psychology is actually required I believe!
1. My foggy sheep are on PP - thank you kind people - I wouldn't have moaned as much if I'd known!
2. I'm half way through shredding the clutter on my desk
3. Monty has to lose weight so we will both have to put in some extras miles.
My son starts his mock GCSEs tomorrow. He has hardly revised (less than 7 hours all holiday - as usual) and has had a terrible headache for the past two days. Maybe this will be the proof that he needs that there are many good reasons not to leave the revision until the last minute. Your son sounds like a very dedicated student.
Love her outfit - especially those heeled bootees! Wouldn't have combined them with the shortish red trousers revealing some blue sock but then who am I to criticise?! Great capture!!
@jantan Well all a bit in vain today. Very pushy school - half of them will get >90% which doesn't help if you've gone completely to pot... Perhaps your son is just saving himself for the big ones!
Sounds like my son's school. Trouble is I think that they are expected to be, and in fact most of them are, self-motivated, whereas my little treasure needs a good old kick up the a**e!
@fueast Yeah and funnily enough it was mine... In fact I bought her a book of "Dear Cathy and Clair' a couple of year's ago - some funny, some sad. Definitely a different era.
Sorry Adam not feeling great today, but you never know, sometimes those exams where they think they've done badly don't turn out so disastrous after all. I love your Three Good Things section and have decided to copy it shamelessly for my project too! (I was a Jackie reader too - we used to fill in the quizzes at the back of O level Chemistry class - our teacher gave up early in the year and just taught the keen boys at the front!) - one of the stories I keep from the boys when trying to promote the importance of diligence and respect at school!
Finally I catch on - just worked out the Jackie reference!! And I so agree about the shoes andtrousers. Good to have a photo to inspire such comment! Poor Adam...
I have struck a similar pose for many years when I used to cycle everywhere, but would never have worn shoes like that! well done on the PP, and that poor old couple....

The boots do seem a little incongruous!
