I've been very indecisive in selecting my photo tonight and not because they're all good! None of them are quite what I want but i'm going for the horse in Jeffrey Archer's garden mostly because I walked further than I wanted to just to take him and partly because Monty left his hoop behind while I was taking the photo and we had to go back for it! I have been trying to make inroads into my book of last year's photos (still in January) so apologies if commenting becomes a bit sporadic - I will check out your lovely pics as soon as I can.
Three good things:
1. I got to Granchester and back without breaking my neck on the ice.
2. The boy excelled himself in his mocks (hope it's not all downhill from here!)
3. A glass of white.
@blightygal Far enough away that I have to travel! I nearly took a pic of his 'folly' where he 'creates'. It was opened by Mrs T while she was in opposition I think (definitely wasn't PM). My friend's mother is in a nursing home at the moment with a man who new Mrs T growing up. He has some great stories including that she used to chop boiled sweets in half rather than give people a smidgeon over 2oz or whatever they'd ordered!
Love this, great colours - thought it was real in the thumb nail. My classic is to drop the lead as I loop it round my waist then notice when I have walked for quite a while! Annoying.
Fancy having a full size horse in your garden!! The only time I was ever in your part of the world about 23 years ago, Jeffrey was in his hey day then.....we visited Granchester & I remember being most impressed with his garden! This horse has a very long face don't you think? Had my glass of white already! No Gin left so it had to be wine tonight!
typical.he's cheated again! But lovely shot of yours...well done son and heir hurrah and yes, i'm on my second glass and simply must cook some dinner!!
@happypat He's got a full size Rupert Brooke on his drive - might post him tomorrow! They do sort of share the artwork with passers by - or show off possibly!
@fueast Don't need to trespass - his garden runs right down to the river and is extremely beautiful. The full time gardener helps. Still I'm sure we're all pleased for him.
Well, I'm obviously the stupid one here! I was just thinking of the right words to describe a (real) horse standing here when I luckily saw Lisa's comment and stopped myself saying something really stupid! Worth the hike, am not sure if this is classy or chavvy?!
I've been struggling to find a pic for today too. This horse looks very realistic, but it's probably the only sort I could cope with. Well done to the boy and the mocks.
der der de de de de de de de der der de de de de de de de de der der der der der der der der der der der der der .. i may have missed a der there ....and maybe a little sqeak or so ..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Flvxbw8YYM8
When I first saw this, I thought the poor horse looked awfully cold and frosty. I was pleased to realize that he's impervious to the cold. :) Beautiful placement of this garden statue...and a gorgeous wintry shot.
Well done to Adam!
