Bit of a crazy day rushing from one place to another - largely because I had to whip the cat off to the vet first thing to have the pampas grass removed from her throat and it threw the day out. Just back from Adam's GCSE/A-level art exhibition at school - such an array of talent on display it makes me want to go back to school - though I'm not sure I could be nearly so creative.
Three good things:
1. Car as good as new
2. Cat as good as new
3. New hammock arrived.
Perfect shot to mimic your 'crazy' day with the crazy loops of wires. Fabulous little pops of orange beak and eye on black perched atop the pole. Marvelous shot! I can't believe Rafiki has yet to learn a lesson regarding grass consumption!! Love the idea of a hammock, beneath a shady tree, with a refreshing cold drink, a good book..............
@peggysirk Well you would think wouldn't you?! Still - only £98 this time :0(. The hammock was lovely when I tried it except that I was on half in when Monty leapt in with me and the extra weight made me hit the ground!! Nigel has moved the fixings up a bit so we'll be good for the weekend!
@judithg The episode with Monty and the hammock is a bit different than what I had envisioned. :) The vet is probably charging less for the grass removal service because he/she has the procedure down to a science with all the prior practice. :)
Does your hammock hang between trees Judith or has it a stand....would be lovely hung from trees just think of the lazy day you could have lying in that.....well silly me who has a whole day to lie in a hammock!! On the other hand I have sometimes!!!
This is a very artistic photo...I think the art department would think your composition & presentation excellent!
@peggysirk Yes well we are now the national experts - I think they're worried that I'll have her put down ;0) Monty was very comfortable lying on me in the hammock - it's virtually impossible to get out of a hammock when you've got your bottom on the floor and a dog relaxed on your lap!
@happypat Tree at one end, post at the other. Lovely with dappled leaves overhead but it's about to be a no-go for a couple of weeks as it gets berries on it and birds sit in it and spit seeds on your head (& worse!)
judith , i like the blackbirds orange beak against the beautiful blue sky ...a bit of a 'Hitchcock Birds' feel to this too....I got to school every day :) :)
I love the intense color and the bird sitting there in a web of wires. He looks so happy as if he's just invented a new way to build a nest. Here's hoping I meet you at the London 365 gathering -- if it happens while I'm there.
Oh I love this: sitting proudly atop a nest of wires. I hope he was singing - he looks like he was. I stopped in my tracks to listen to a blackbird singing the other evening.
