With Adam up and off to work at 6.30 and Rachel out of the house to work at 8.20, Nigel and I were feeling a tad guilty about our lovely relaxing stroll along the river to Granchester Tea Gardens. Still, a lovely scone with clotted cream and blackcurrant jam helped me get over it :0) More of a diary shot than any artistic merit - just wasn't in the mood.
Three GT:
1. Offspring with a good work ethic
2. Adam has learned how to get up and out without waking me up
3. Downloaded a movie for a bit of family viewing - even though I laughed so hard at one point that I hurt my poorly throat - having to rest it up today...
I don't think this is "just" a diary shot, it actually evokes exactly the atmosphere of an English tea garden in summer and could easily be included in a piece for one of the glossies such as Country Living.
Sounds like a lovely way to spend time together! All those years of parenting should have its rewards... don't feel guilty! Beautiful setting among the trees!
I went to Granchester for the first time a year ago. You have captured it perfectly, lovely composition. Why do we feel guilty about relaxing? Hope your throat soon better.
I love 1 and 2 of your 3GT - now that my children are grown and have been in the work force for a few years, they realize the value of number 1 and know that not everyone has it. (And I am so glad they do have it). Number 2 is still a struggle for the one still at home - although it's more her dog that wakes us! Did Monty go with you to the idyllic spot? If so, you've set the chairs up again nicely. J/K
well done to Adam for the quiet getting up - you see, you're starting to become redundant...before you know it, you can go and have afternoon tea every day and become a full time lady of leisure, which'd be great if the weather was this good all the time!!
@jewelsandbinoculars It was 'I'll Give it a Year'. Quite silly but a scene with a digital photo frame did the damage. Had to go to bed with Paracetomol to reduce the swelling!!
