All of the punts that Rachel 'pushes' are female. These smaller ones are for people to drive themselves. I went down to the punt station to see her during our walk this morning as she was supposed to be 'punt handling' (setting up the boats, getting them out for self-hires and teaching people how to punt) but I didn't see her so she was either busy in the shed or had been press-ganged into taking a tour out. She is in the middle of a 7 day run of shifts hence volunteering to cover the handling job for a 'day off'.
Three GT:
1. Better to be busy than sitting around in the cold and rain or not out at all like last year.
2. One of Rachel's Chinese tour parties complaining that the town is full of Chinese people (Rachel laughed but they didn't get the irony - and to be fair it's probably quite frustrating when you have gone somewhere 'exotic' to find it crammed with your fellow countrymen.)
3. Off to London with Adam to 'do' galleries. A 'working' trip as he has to get material for his AS Art but I'll try to squeeze in a photo or 2 for 365.
@bpaquette There's a much bigger platform at the other end that's for standing on. In Oxford they stand in the bottom of the boat but it's useful to have the extra height (of course we do it the correct way!)
Great observation and interesting write up. I have never had a go at punting - my brother and eldest sister were both experts at it! He said she was actually better at it than him too.
Made my day to see a punt called 'Bunny'. :)
