Basket case

A quick shot on my little P&S today - I located it again recently and it's a bit easier to carry around while shopping. This bike is in Rose Crescent very near the Jo Malone shop which parted me from my money this afternoon. I'm trying out a new fragrance - Vanilla and Anise (I'm normally a Red Roses girl) so I bought the smallest bottle though I've realised that it's actually a lot more cost effective to buy a larger volume. Rachel's favourite is in a fancy bottle so I can see why that would cost a lot but the Jo Malone ones are quite simple.
Three GT:
1. Rachel passed her driving test and I didn't even know she was taking it!
2. The insurance people have charged hardly anything extra for her new status (one of my nephew's friends was quoted £26,000 for insurance when he passed his test!) - making me feel that they put rather a small price on the guidance and experience I had to offer!
3. My lovely nephew Louis has got into his top choice university/course - hurrah!
Lovely idea

Lovely and very 'Judithesque' shot. Love your 3 good things. Congrats to Rachel for passing her test...how on earth did she not know she was taking it? Congrats to your nephew too xx

@psychographer She knew - she just told me she was going out for a normal lesson. She didn't want anybody making her nervous - I'm only nervous now she's passed and is hitting the road!

Lots of good news today and a beautiful shot!
August 15th, 2013
@judithg Hitting the road is fine...hitting other cars and old ladies not so much ;o) I know exactly what you mean though, I was just the same when Gemma first went out on her own xx

Love the composition - and the title. Love your three good things too. Congratulations Rachel and Louis - good name!

Great news all round and a perfect basket case to o with it. Are these flowers growing around the basket or is it a plant within the basket? Lovely Judithaboutcambridge shot c

Beautifully planned photo Judith & a perfect accessory to a Jo Malone shop...I have some of her perfume can't remember off hand but it's a number 1571 or similar! I always sniff her stuff but can never find one I really go for.
Exam results mixed Jack just missed out on one A so has not at this moment got into his first choice uni so doesn't quite know what to do yet. Lydia on course for her ABB next year.
Clever Rachel & crafty not saying until she passed!

What a picturesque shot :). Congratulations to Rachel - can't blame her for not telling, I told everyone and failed the first time... What about the A and AS-level results?
August 15th, 2013
@jannaellen Adam's doing GCSE's this year - next Thursday for them :0\
August 15th, 2013
Congrats to Rachel - clever thinking and well done. You might be getting more bike shots if she is anything like my kids were about taking the car.

@lucypics They are trailing petunias in a hanging basket above I think. I tried taking the Occitane basket with flowers inside but I needed to rearrange them!
August 15th, 2013
@judithg hahaha I saw that yellow bike with lavender plus bee on Monday, very tempted but thought the same. Did you trail this petunia into the basket?
August 15th, 2013
@lucypics No but now I'm starting to think I might do some judicious 'set dressing' now and again!
August 15th, 2013
@bpaquette That's true - she already had designs on it tonight but has decided to have a drink instead - phew!
August 15th, 2013
@judithg I think you should take your own display and pop it in a basket, quick snap, et voila. Go on dare you.
August 15th, 2013
@lucypics I'm on it. Saw a man cycling with masses of real flowers in his basket last week - couldn't believe I didn't have my camera ready - nearly cried!!!

Lovely composition.
Well done Rachel!

@happypat He should get an emergency remark - my neighbour got one and it moved her from a B to an A and the university had to honour their offer. Louis is disappointed with one of his grades but the university still offered him a place so tell Jack not to despair yet!

wonderful shot. love the basket and morning glories. the play on words is very creative in your title. congrats on having a new teen on the road! girls tend to be less than boys at this age i do believe!
August 15th, 2013
@moreyoulessme Well they used to but the blooming court of European Rights has decreed that that's sexist - it's maths in my opinion....
August 15th, 2013
A very attractive picture, I like the way you have cropped it. btw well done Rachel I bet she couldn't wait to tell you she had passed
August 15th, 2013
This is a beautiful clear and bright shot! There is only one person in my town that has a basket on her bike and it is a genuinely old one! She had it stolen recently! I have panniers on mine - flowers would not be the same!
August 15th, 2013
Beautiful bike shot and those petunias look lovely against the basket textures.
August 15th, 2013
Lovely shot and well done Rachel :)
August 15th, 2013
love your title and love the POV here. good news re: the insurance!
August 15th, 2013
Beautiful shot :)
August 15th, 2013
gr8 petunias and even better that they are mingled in with the bike handlebars ..... has Rachel got her own car yet :)
August 15th, 2013
@phil_howcroft No and she won't be getting one either! No room on our drive....on the other hand if you asked, 'Has Nigel lost his car now?' the answer would be,'Quite possibly!'
August 16th, 2013
Very pretty shot, love the colors and the composition.
August 16th, 2013
Clearly a 'basket case'.
August 16th, 2013
Great close-up and composition.
August 16th, 2013
great pov
August 16th, 2013
I can safely report....that all is well and never do i want to go through such mind bending kitchen table talking over the what if's of the A-level results as the day drew nearer..ever again i do not know which was worse this or the birth of the tiny one, anyway...Three...B's...and a place at Nottingham..reading Bio Chemistry....Phew.....and as ever nice shot...
August 16th, 2013
@tsingtao Nightmare time - LOTS of Chardonnay required! All the best people do Biochemistry (I did!!) Very interesting subject & I went on to do some cool medical research - good choice!

Nice bikey floweriness. I do like Jo Malone. I've been lime-basil-and-mandarin recently. Never bought for myself though - that would feel amazingly grown-up. Do you still get all the unnecessary ribbons and scented tissue paper and blah?

Congrats to Rachel. Love the shot. Could spend a fortune in Jo Malone if I had the money!
August 17th, 2013
A simply gorgeous shot! Love this!!
Congratulations to Rachel! And to your nephew as well! Very good things in your family on this day. :)
August 17th, 2013
@jewelsandbinoculars Yes and as I chucked out the lovely box I thought I'd rather pay £5 less... Lime and basil sounds yummy.
August 17th, 2013
Quaint retro shot! So,lovely!
