Des Res by judithg

Des Res

Another photo from my river walk on Sunday. This house was renovated in a huge way a couple of years ago and it's fantastic. I think it may have been some sort of mill because it has a tower over the archway (LHS in this pic). And if they get bored with that there's always the rather nice barge. I took Monty to the vet - she thinks he may have some harvest mites in between his toes (though it's early in the season apparently) so they have to be cleaned out with sedation on Wednesday. Meanwhile he has anti-histamine and steroids and will be so laid back that he'll be completely horizontal this week.
Three GT:
1. Huge thanks for putting my dragonfly on PP - it's been a long while so it's a real boost.
2. Adam all jabbed up with tetanus etc - his childhood vaccines are complete - yet another milestone!
3. First day of 6th form tomorrow after a VERY long break - and obviously bags aren't packed and ready (he's only had 13 weeks to do them) - but an excellent set of teachers and SO many art lessons that I'm rather jealous!
Fun pov. Quite the residence! Dragonfly well worthy of the pp. does Adam board at school? Sorry re Monty's troubles

You mean he's not doing maths, physics, chemistry and further maths? Shocking. Sorry about monty's mites. Had enough of those this end

Great view of this amazing house though the boat, Cambridge is just so beautiful! Poor Monty ...... Off to check Saski's feet not for a digestive smell but for anything small and parasitic.

@jgpittenger No - it's a day school - they did have small boarding houses for a while - one was one of two in the country specifically for Jewish boys. I'm not sure when it was opened but it supported quite a number of refugees in and after the war including Josef Behrmann who survived 14 concentration camps and went on to be a film maker. It closed in 1948 but it's surviving ex residents still get together. @fueast well he's squeezing in Maths - there are plenty doing maths, extra maths, super hard maths, physics and engineering along with extra rocketry and geekness so you'll be alright!

@judithg Oh. We only accept geekery and rocketness I'm afraid.

So glad he will be adequately trained in geek ness and rocketry

A pricey des res with a straight path to the river, can't be bad!! they have used that rather nice greeny blue paint I tried to paint the outhouse door with & needs re doing.
Exciting time for Adam ...one of the big ones, much harder work though poor thing!!
Mites in the toes...never heard of that!

Poor old Monty, must be driving him mad. Back to school for us tomorrow too. Part of me is ecstatic, part sad. What a fab place to live. Can't say I am envying Angus any of his A level choices.

What a lovely composition - and that's a really nice boat. Art classes sound really nice!

@jantan It is a double edged sword and not helped because we know how fast 6th form goes by.

Harvest mites?!?! Never heard of them...must check Kylie's feet as she has been licking and scratching all week. Eeyew. Just gave her an antihistamine to hope it gives her relief. What is a DES RES?!?!
September 5th, 2013
@bpaquette Des res - desirable residence... Harvest mites = orange and often cole t it the foldy bit of the ear. I don't think Monty had them - don't know what set him off - the bathing is for yeast again. You have to use spray directly on the mites ('Stronghold' here) not the spot on stuff.
