No photos taken on the 9th because too much to do including driving to Luton Airport and back to drop Rachel off and hosting book club in our house (cleaning therefore required). Spotted this burr/cobweb confection by the Lode at Rampton. It's a walk that I enjoy although it will always be somewhat tarnished by a nasty scene in Sebastian Faulks' 'Engleby' - a really good but creepy book set in Cambridge (and briefly but significantly in Rampton).
Three GT:
1. Rachel arrived safely in Budapest
2. A large cup of tea at Luton Airport
3. The burrs were out of doggy range
Nice balance here too - was that deliberate?

Burrs are very dodgy things on dogs...I like the slight covering of cobweb plus great textures & autumn colour.
I only read This Boy from the book list & I thoroughly enjoyed it...was it well liked at the meeting Judith?

Very good viewed large - looks like an avant-garde flower arrangement!

It sounds like you have had a busy time Judith glad to hear Rachel arrived safe and sound . We have just got back from Cornwall we spent a few days to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. So I am all behind with 365 . Love this photo

@happypat We haven't had that one yet (it is an excuse for our friend from Bristol to come over so we don't get to meet too often) - I haven't read the others either yet. I did find one for our other book club which is a thriller about identity theft and the dangers of on-line friendships - thought it might be fun for us 365ers!

@happypat PS I really enjoyed This Boy - I'd love to see more of the photography he includes as well. I thought the whole racism thing was very interesting and also I was pretty shocked by the school thing - it must have been a London thing that he could pass the 11 plus and no grammar schools want him and then they didn't care that he didn't go.

@busylady Yes the shape appealed.

@snowy Oh congratulations!

@happypat It's called 'Kiss me first' by Lottie Moggach - no idea if it's any good but it has 4.5 stars I think.

Nice detail and web

This is really pretty and I love the cobwebs all bound up around it. The autumnal colours are nice and refreshing now after a summer of bright colours. I'm sure we'll be fed up with them soon enough though. Lovely shot.

Great capture and so cool you caught a spider web.

We used to love to make baskets from burrs. Then we had an Irish Setter. Not so much fun then. Burrs don't stick on Labradors. Love the symmetry of this shot!

Great shot of the burrs. Dislike them with a passion although with a sneaking admiration for there success in managing to stick to every part of a Spaniel :)
