Flat-packered

37 Ikea packages were delivered (should have been 38 but as it happens the one that they failed to deliver I ordered by mistake). 37 Ikea packages have been unpacked - with quite a bit of difficulty in some cases - and assembled - mostly without incident. In the midst of all of this Nigel had to drive off to Gatwick to collect Rachel from an 11.30 pm flight. I stayed up building drawers until about 12.40 (while I had sole claim to the electric screwdriver) went to bed, woke up at 1.45 and, convinced Nigel had crashed the car, couldn't get back to sleep. They arrived home at the expected time of 2am. Meanwhile I have stiff everything from crawling about all over the floor, a sore hand from too much manual screwdrivering and a bit of a headache. But all is well and I watched a programme last night (Fabulous Fashionistas - Channel 4) about women in their 80's and 90's who are quite remarkable - fit, flexible, fashionable, working in impressive jobs - Gillian Lynne is incredible at 87 and I am no longer able to moan about creaking joints.
Four GT:
1. Nearly done with assembly.
2. The nice trouble shooting lady at Ikea is sending us extra drawer fronts for free after Nigel 'fessed up to going a bit wrong with a drawer handle.
3. A hot bath is calling me.
PS Thank for all the comments - I may not get chance to reciprocate tonight but normal service will resume asap.
4. Rachel and Nigel home safely.
super cute shot! love that face!

@lucypics Totally wiped out and not with it! V busy morning but will be out somewhere in the afternoon with the dog. Another day though if you have to squeeze in the vet. Our cat pees everywhere from time to time - it's some sort of inflammatory thing - must be really sore but clears up quick.

Ah cute. Fit and flexible at 80, now that's something to work towards (not being fit or flexible at 50 ...)

Those wonderful vibrant ladies were an inspiration weren't they Judith...I thought to myself, must keep moving!!!!
Well done on the assembly of Ikea, you have obviously missed your calling in life & should have been a joiner!
Bless little Monty...such soulful eyes..I bet he hated the change to his routine...probably thought you were going away !!

I love this shot, Monty looks like he is not going to move anytime soon. I am glad they all got home safe and sound.

Must watch that programme. Well done for doing all that assembling - 37 boxes must have been pretty daunting! And for getting Monty to pose in a box - I was trying to persuade Luna to play in a box the other day - she just looked at me like I was mad!

Jo
That's exactly what ikea boxes are for!
September 19th, 2013
Great shot. He looks pretty fed up that all your attention has been elsewhere. What on earth are you making 37 of?
September 19th, 2013
Oh I missed that programme. I must try and catch up with it on 4OD. 37 is a lot of packages! At least you had some help :o) xx

37 boxes! WOW! I once spent 10 hours in IKEA supporting a friend kitting out a new flat - she owed me big time for that.
My computer problems have been going on for 6 weeks! Looking forward to a mega catch up on 365 this weekend.

Very appealing shot of Monty! I feel tired just reading about your efforts.
September 20th, 2013
Great shot! This is exactly what my cat Karma does whenever there are boxes laying around! Yes, I have built quite a few IKEA cabinets in my lifetime....Good luck with it all!
September 20th, 2013
Oh Monty, I love you poor thing. Fav
September 20th, 2013
