There are loads of location signs up around Cambridge for the film shooting but most are in Colleges so I can't incorporate them into my dog walk. I was wondering how they would make the town look 'period' (1960's in this case) when I came across this. The shop is actually a gift shop and they seem to have made false windows as well as covering up the sign. It faces the end of Trinity Lane which is just that, quite a narrow lane and pretty much unchanged since the 16th century so often used for filming. The bookshelves and books are somewhat oversized and I can't work out if this is their final position - presumably the filming will be some distance away so they will appear nearer by being larger?
The security chaps were having fun explaining to visitors that the books were not for sale. I did have a word about the one way sign.
Three GT:
1. If you can't get away for new photo ops, rebuilding the town is the next best thing.
2. Another beautiful September day.
3. Bake Off on tonight.
I think the sign needs to go, he he, but must be quite interesting seeing all these changes to the area & of course they are doing it all for you so you can get new photos!! You will definitely have to go & see the film!
Oh this is keeping you so well entertained. What a stroke of luck. I have a friend who sources this sort of stuff for films etc. Stops her further cluttering up the flat I guess - unless she takes it all home at the end I suppose.
How exciting to see what the film crew does with the town. Have you seen the Stephen Hawking film with Benedict Cumberbatch? It's quite good I think, and not only because Benedict stars in it ;).
Love how there's always something going in Cambridge.
Shockingly, I don't think anyone has filmed in Southampton since Howard's Way and the city is so photogenic too. ;)
Great composition here but shame they put the sign there! It's hard to make out what's real and what's not in this shot ;) Interesting for you to see things being changed around. Your no 1 GT made me smile - they're obviously doing it just for you!
Great capture of these men working away! Perhaps I should have headed in another direction when I went out to take some shots earlier today - all of this passed me by completely!
