Wallers Butchers by Jesus Green. I famously sent my father-in-law to queue up for a turkey here one Christmas Eve before I realised that I'd ordered it from a different butcher. He was a lot more tolerant than the butcher. I'm filling in a day late because I was out at a 6th Form Forum last night. The good news is that I'm not nearly as pushy a parent as I thought. A remarkable number of vocal parents were encouraging the teachers to pressurise our offspring even more than they do already (which is quite a lot). More than once the words, 'An A is not good enough' were uttered. Luckily it seems that the silent majority were thinking, 'Get a grip.'
Ooh - a proper butchers. I'd love to live near one of these (preferably with a bike like that outside!). We've got quite a lot of the more homework brigade at my older son's school too - don't they like their children?
Poor little beggars...who'd be a kid these days!!! I am sure you have a much more relaxed attitude!! As long as they try hard that's all you can ask. Your young man didn't need pushing anyway!! That bike is perfectly placed & I do like a good butcher. We have a great village butcher but there is never a decent bike parked at the front!!!
Poor old FIL I would think he would be a bit panicky thinking of his lost dinner!!
@judithg I don't think it's the same uni as Rachels....I think it is the Newman one we are going to....they do the Speech Therapy....Jack is going to the Edgbaston open day at the end of the month. All go!! Thanks Judith for your info!
get a grip indeed judith...they should come and visit my inner city school for a slice of real life....cracking picture of wallers and the bike is the finishing touch
That is such a funny story about the turkey. On the other hand the pressure put on kids is certainly not a funny story. Good capture of the shop with the bike outside.

I like the blue bricks on the building.
