I can't tell you how many times I've photographed the driveway from the back gate of St John's and it always gets rejected in favour of something later on my walk. Today it has been saved purely by the backlit squirrel (which caused some doggy excitement).
Three GT:
1. It hammered it down on and off overnight but cleared up and was actually fairly warm just as I set off with the dog.
2. It hammered it down (with lightening I think) when we were in the cinema watching 'Captain Philips' but was dry either side.
3. Adam suggesting a cinema trip with us - we'll take them while we can!
I don't like Tom Hanks much. A bit like Harrison Ford. As they have gotten older they always look pained. On the other hand I like the soft yellows and light in this one
Classic good looks! And cute, camera shy squirrel. Love this shot. I've heard that Tom Hanks gives an Oscar nominating performance in 'Captain Philips'.
A family trip to the cinema what could be nicer , love a good picture! beautiful long look along the drive with those lovely trees lining the sides....the shadows & sunlight bring this photo to life...plus the squirrel of coarse!
Cambridge has so many photo opportunities, but you have to get away from the madding crowd, as you have here. I was there on Sunday and will be posting some pics later in the week
brilliant judith , did you see the squirrel when you clicked or was it a lucky shot ? We had a surreal moment yesterday ...when walking Ruby in the "duck park" we bumped into "Lottie the Whippet" and her human family ...as we were talking both whippets in an instant were on 'back legs', tugging at their leads barking at a park squirrel :) happy whippets
Lovely light here, and the squirrel action shot makes it. Captain Phillips worth seeing then? JB has a pathological, probably quite unhealthy, hatred of Tom Hanks so wouldn't see it with me in a million years, but I might break ranks and go anyway.
Greatly timed capture. I've walked here too. Funny thought, sitting down behind my laptop back in Holland again. Maybe we should move out there. Such a great and inspiring place!
