I'm afraid I'm reverting back to Saturday again for this one. I had a morning doing food shopping followed by town shopping and then managed to co-ordinate with Rebecca for a lunchtime walk. A slight promise of blue sky didn't materialise and I couldn't find any inspiration. I did just hijack a Christmas present that I've bought for a friend for a shot but it needs a bit more time and effort. The afternoon involved work plus early dinner-cooking so I could go and watch an indoor hockey game. This required a slog through Cambridge's rush hour traffic - the council's latest road layout adjustments have almost achieved complete gridlock, just one more set of lights and they'll have done it.
3GT:
1 Christmas shopping almost complete - just a couple of perishables to go and one which is taxing my brain.
2. I have capitulated and bought an artificial tree. Expensive but I think it will look OK. It might be going back if Nigel vetoes it (I haven't confessed yet) but the final straw was realising that the real trees have already been cut and sitting at the garden centre drying out for weeks - it's no wonder that my best efforts lying on the floor and trying to tip water into the base are in
vain.
3. A useful and interesting talk about art schools from a past pupil has Adam all enthused (I think this is a good thing - it is a long way out of my comfort zone!)
Love the title and the wonderful gold tones here. Fab shot and a fav. I was Norma no mates on my little lonesome at Gogs today, long story but was there super early
Love the feel of this, the colours and the composition give me the feeling of sitting on a bench looking at the scene.
Well done on the Christmas shopping, I have one thing left to get. I have had an artificial tree forever, it is all about the feeling and atmosphere so get decorating
top bike shot judith...love the last colours on the Virginia Creeper .....with regard to 3GF2 ...we too have gone artificial too...first time in many years...we bought a minimalistic designer one in the Next sale in January..... real trees were really expensive last year ... anyway...lovely shot
Like your bike shot! We capitulated last year and bought an artificial tree. I had realised that the smell of a real tree is only from trees that drop their needles. The smell for me was my best part of a real tree but falling needles cancelled that out! Christmas is anyway perhaps the 'lowest key' in our house that you can get!
Such a very suitable title....I think you are still in curtain mode!! The residents of Cambridge do park their bikes in just the right places!
Sounds a very busy day ...I don't know how you fitted it all in.
I often think those trees must be cut down weeks beforehand....whatever you do they always look dreadful when the branches start turning down!
Super shot -- the bicycle under a curtain drape of beautiful autumnal leaves Well done on the Xmas shopping & here's me thinking it was time I started !!
Fav! Love this Judith, particularly the composition. I was looking at Christmas trees yesterday, they are so expensive aren't they, and that watering them business a complete waste of time in my experience. Hope you 'get away with' your artificial one - I know it wouldn't go down well here.
This is a lovely shot - combination of the leaves, stonework and bicycle is perfect - fav! We're still going with real trees, mainly because school makes a lot of money from selling them, but I do think it would be worth getting an artificial one as it might actually fit into the awkward corners we've got where we can put a tree! Not sure my husband would accept that though!
This looks really good enlarged - the lighting on the creeper is just right, and it's a great composition. I've long thought the Cambridge City Council must get a special buy-one-get-one-free offer on their traffic lights.

Big, big FAVE!

Art school - how exciting!
I *know* there's a case for artificial trees, but I can't bring myself to do it.
