Just back from a very lovely social event with our governors and supporting staff at a new Cambridge cafe called Afternoon Tease. The owner is the niece of our magnificent 'Clerk to Governors' - they are a family that gets things done! I think it may be the best turn out we've ever had for a 'meeting ' - there was the promise of chocolate Guinness cake. The cafe is on King Street should anybody local be interested.
Not so good was faffing about trying to find working bike lights followed by getting trapped by my neighbour who wanted me to meet his house-sitter so that I ended up arriving in town just as the baby shop closed - I think this purchase is jinxed!
Three GT:
1. The reflective cycling jackets kindly donated en masse to the school.
2. Mincemeat Bakewell tarts.
3. Kate for organising our outing - we would actually fall apart without her.
@judithg the youth of today... A graduation scarf perhaps? @jackie8 yes I'm fine thanks Jackie. Just drowning in marking and no photos to offer. I just pop in occasionally to leave sarcy messages on Judith's posts. It's a Preston thing.
I saw a place recently in the paper that sold cakes for dogs....a proper shop!! You & Monty could run one!!!
Afternoon Tease....I like it & the sound of the cakes even more! Not sure about chocolate Guinness cake though!!
What a great name for a tea shop although the chairs look like the kind where they don't want you to linger too long. We never did such things when I was a Governor :)
It's a serious position being a school governor Judith...I don't envy you doing it, but hats off to you for doing so...I sat on PTA's while my daughters were at school and was chair for a while ....but i never progressed to governors !...anyway gr8 title and a gr8 Café name

You're not having much luck with that baby gift. :(
