My first headless hockey shot of 2014..... As the game progressed it got darker and darker and we were glad to retreat to the school hall for teas, leaving the poor 3rd team spectators looking anxiously at the sky. And with good reason as we drove home through an apocalyptic hail/rain storm with lightning flashes and a swirling wind. I was driving so yelled at Adam to take a photo while he yelled at me to concentrate on the road - fair enough as visibility was somewhere around zero and in the melee we could just about see lumps of tree snapping off and crashing down on to the road!
Good things:
1. 4-0 win
2. The wild weather was over fairly quickly
3. We managed to locate missing Monty (he had wriggled under our bed as he's scared of thunder but Nigel looked under there about three times before he managed to spot the hairy black bottom!)
4. Adam did take a picture of the weather which I'll stick in Extras but I'm determined to get through my January challenge of actually taking and posting a pic each day even if they're a bit rubbish.
A good shot for your day! I heard of yesterday evening's mini tornadoes on the radio this a.m. - and now apparently it's going to rain for 3 days. I also heard about a lady in the village which is now an island who has not been out since she went to fetch the Christmas turkey. I just feel very thankful.
I feel embarrassed for our country that we are not doing more to help those people - and that poor river management has caused it on the first place. I feel very lucky that it's not us and very sorry for them.
Got it! I echo all your sentiments. I can't imagine what it must be like.
