Halfway up the stairs

I pootled in to town with Monty on a quest for a bicycle photo having looked through a load over the weekend and realised that they've become quite thin on the ground in my project. I do have one that I really like but then I spotted these two in St John's College blazers coming down from the chapel tower. That balcony is narrow and a bit scary if you happen to be like me and have a stair phobia - there's no choice but to go up or down from that point. There's a local photographer who has a website of portrait pictures from the streets of Cambridge and he quite often posts very tiny people like this.
Meanwhile there were parties and frollicking students all over the place and, Rachel having been home for a week already, it occurred to me just how much party time Cambridge students have in the summer term - May Balls and graduation still to come. They have had the trauma of having to go and rather publicly get their results from the walls of the Senate House though...

Three GT:
1. Slow start, lazy day.
2. Almost finished Luminaries and I think I may have followed the plot.
3. The 'best brains in Britain' carrying their boats for the annual raft race. Three teams at least had effectively made 'coffins' out of cardboard boxes and waterproofed them with Sellotape. I hope they could all swim...
Lovely shot Judith....I thought it was Ely Cathedral, I wonder if they were designed by the same architect?

... is a stair where I sit. There isn't any other stair quite like it.' A poem by A.A. Milne which I used to read to my children when they were small. I can still remember most of it. Love your photo although I couldn't find the people at first! Love your stories about happenings in Cambridge.

Wow you stuck with the Luminaries - well done you! Love the composition of this. We had to get our results off the wall when I was at university - the humiliation!

Well spotted Judith. The figures really add interest, and I really like your crop too.

There is always such a lot going on in your city! Great to hear about it all. The gates are beautiful here and that steep roof is really quite architecturally beautiful! The people make the shot human!

I really like that you included the people in your shot, especially in colour.

Love the little people in the shot - it makes this extra special

I like the intricacies of your shot contrasted with two little 'red' folk. And feeling that you might have followed the plot of something is surely encouraging?

Amazing how beautiful the gates are as well - as intricate as the building facade. What did you think of the Luminaries? I absolutely loved it, but it took a very long time and whenever I had a long gap it took me ages to work out who was who and what was happening again. Worth sticking with though.

We have poems from When We Were Very Young most nights. Milne was a genius. But sadly that does represent the apex of my current literary achievement. I haven't followed the plot of anything more complex for many months.
