I finally sat down and worked my way through a backlog of accounts before heading in to town to exchange Ottolenghi's 'Jerusalem' for 'Plenty' - as it's a gift for a vegetarian it would seem sensible to buy the vegetarian book (Note to self - tell your husband the correct title). I also managed to find another couple of gifts for Adam to take the the US - no food and no alcohol severely limiting the choices. Then in the evening out to a university application talk at Adam's school. I've got a bet going with myself about whether we can get through the entire process without the aord 'art' being mentioned. They are still very much of the 'Medicine', 'Law', 'Oxbridge' mindset and have a very good success rate with these difficult to achieve targets but some acknowledgement of other aspirations would be good!
Three GT:
1. The art teachers at least know what they are doing.
2. A nice day to cycle in to town.
3. Some nice new 'home' shops opened.
Is this the hairdressers Judith...you would never guess! Sweet little jumpers in the window ! I always love looking down into those road height windows....wonder if you can see anything down there!
The main "hard subjects" are always the most important to some people....schools are judged on those results perhaps......Adam will show them there are other walks to go down!
@happypat I must check what's through that window - there's one where you can look down and see amazing bespoke academic gowns being made (reds & golds etc) but Monty gets freaked out & barks at the tailors so I can never loiter for long! They always have a few who do art but you wouldn't think so at these evenings!
