Caribbean on Tyne

Who needs the Caribbean when you have 'Football Hole' in Northumberland? Actually if you want a swim in a warm sea you need it but still! There was one other couple on this beach which has the most beautiful sand and lovely shallow sea which is apparently not safe to go out swimming in just here. We walked over to Low Newton by the Sea from here and had lunch on the lawn in front of The Ship Inn. Had to drive back to the cottage later so we didn't partake of the products of their micro-brewery. Got to have a reason to go back...
Often these remote beaches have the most beautiful sand - weather is not so good as is swimming as you say - probably a rip! Lunch on the lawn sounds wonderful!

The sea actually looks quite inviting. Shame about the reality. It's stunning, but I do like to be able to swim.
