When I was walking in Granchester with @fueast on Friday I commented on the perfection of the blackberries and muttered about going back with a container. She said that she uses the dogs (unused!) poo bags for unexpected harvesting and I was slightly, irrationally, grossed out. Well that all went out the window when I saw some absolute beauties on our walk today. Adam gave me a really filthy look as I carried the bulging bag from car to house and felt the need to tell me I was being totally 'disgusting'. I pointed out that if it contained what he thought it contained we would be on our way to the vet!! Apologies if I have ruined anybody's sunday evening!
ha ha - I see I get the blame for all of this grossness. Its a plastic bag for goodness sake. Tell Adam that they don't sell them with poo in.
Oh mind you - I should have mentioned that I don't buy the scented ones. Full of toxic chemicals I bet. A good haul would say.
Very nice bowl of Blackberries i feel there may be a pie made I bet it will taste beautiful served with Custard hope you have had a nice weekend Judith.
I do the same - perfect solution! What a great weekend for Alison to visit being the Cambridge open weekend. Sadly we didn't make it to any of the open buildings this year - it was Henry's first birthday, too much going on!
I am with @fueast I always stuff a poo bag with blackberries, or dandelions, for the tortoises. On friday I even emptied my daughters sweets into one in the car. Lovely plump blackberries, I really must pick more!
brilliant judith, we use ruby's poo bags for unexpected harvests too. Although today we went 'Blackberrying' with tuppaware boxes.... 2.7kg collected :)
@fueast I didn't even know they had scented poo bags ...I never used a poo bag in my life but would think they would be a very useful tool for all sorts of occasions.
Must say here I was not a dreadful dog owner that left poo all over just that Tui never went off farm so took her self off somewhere like the good girl she was!
Beautiful fat blackberries Judith...I must shale myself tomorrow & go & pick some. I haven't used all last years yet.....not many bodies made in this house these days...heartburn is the result but jam ....now there's another matter!
We also went blackberrying yesterday - now I need some apples. (We buy nappy bags, cheaper than doggie bags, but they have a certain perfumed smell which I wouldn't want to transfer to a crumble!)
Too good to pass by! At the perfect ripeness and who cares about the bags - they are completely hygienic to start off with! I seem to only have a hat when I'm passing blackberry bushes! Might dye my hair if I used that!
It's just blackberry-topia at the moment, isn't it? I'm planning to go out this afternoon with a stick and a tall boy (human, not article of furniture) or two in tow, as I've picked all the ones within my modest reach along the surrounding hedges.
Oh mind you - I should have mentioned that I don't buy the scented ones. Full of toxic chemicals I bet. A good haul would say.
