The birds at Granchester Tea Gardens are very tame. Linda, Sian and I walked a gaggle of dogs (to mix my collective nouns) around Byron's pool and then headed over there this morning for a pot of tea. We had a lovely robin overhead who would almost certainly have joined us if it weren't for our furry companions. I thought I'd taken some more decent pictures but the morning was pretty dark so the shots are all really grainy. This blue tit was busy nicking cake - I was trying for a 'looking to the right' pic but she stole a huge piece of cake and didn't feel the need to go back for a while! A cheering e-mail today from our house's old lodger - he has a spring in his step and has found a lovely companion - brilliant to hear his good news after the heartbreak of losing his wife.
So pleased for your lodger.....no good being on your own lonely...men in particular seem to function better with company whether man or beast!
Lovely little inquisitive bird sitting there!
Great news about your friend. Always nice to see people moving on.
