Months ago Adam bought tickets for Nigel and me to go and see Sam Smith as we have birthdays coming up but in the end Nigel had to go away on a business trip and Adam stepped in to the breach and took me. It was a lot of fun as he is a big fan as well (we've listened to a lot of SS on school runs) and it seems unlikely that he will be playing small venues like Cambridge for much longer.
A wonderful night & I bet Adam was secretly glad his dad was away! Nice for you both to have a mother son evening! I like the way you have the hands up in the air clapping!

May I ask...I am working on the Carols Service at Kings in Cambridge next month and will have a brief amount of time to see a pub or two for some mulled wine hopefully...can you recommend any nice ones near Kings to go and visit?
@stevecameras Oh how fantastic - I will be looking out for the photos! Your best bet is to cross the road from King's and turn right - you'll come to Benet Street which has the Golden grasshopper lock on the corner (can't miss it - huge circular thing - very gold!). A few yards down Benet Street is The Eagle - famous for being the regular of Watson and Crick and also of American Airmen - go through to the back bar and you'll see their graffiti on the ceiling. There are other pubs down there as well though I haven't been in those in ages. There's also a lovely Sicilian place called Aromi for sandwiches if you want to stay off the strong stuff! I'll put my phone number in one of your posts in case you're at at loose end - no pressure I know what it's like when you're working!
@judithg Thank you for this. I am sure I will be able to get to at least of these watering holes at some point! :) And yes please do...I have managed only one 365 meet up but would like to do more.
