Hot hot hot! by judithg

Hot hot hot!

One of the red borders at Clare College. The planting is truly stunning in Clare Fellows' Garden - I've only included a handful of the different types of plant in this border - and then there are all the diffrerent colours too. Of course it leaves the dilemma - do you get close in or give a wider view? This is a sort of in between shot - the river runs between the garden and the college building behind - I did get some shots with punters in but you only see the top 3rd of people and they didn't quite work. I was thinking about @cherrill while I was in there - she would have a field day and know what to do with the shots! I hope to get commenting later but have a serious ironing crisis owing to the fact that I spent so long in Clare garden - but will be catching up ASAP!!
a happy mix of and balance

The hummingbirds must have a field day there. You do have hummingbirds??? We have some of the same species in our home garden and the hummers always show up when the camera is in the house! Nothing like RED! Well done.

@hown Sadly not a hummingbird in the country!! We have to make do with hoverflies which are altogether less exotic!!

Such a splash of red & I love the way you have framed it !! I can see that to add the punters would have been too much & I think the lovely stonework behind shows up the red even more ! Hope you have caught up ! You could spend all evening on the computer if you don't ration yourself !!!

How beautiful. I always think that gardens that use one color are very bold.
