Do you ever have trouble knowing what to read in the Bible or get distracted when reading?
I got an idea to get a journal and use it while reading. As I read a chapter of the Bible, I look for a verse that I like or that speaks to me and write it down. It really keeps me on track and it's like treasure hunting.
I have tried to read Psalms many times but never get to the end. Since using the notebook, I am at Psalm 145, almost to the end. While doing Psalms, I skipped around a little and also read through Proverbs, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and 1 Thessalonians. Now I have a journal full of my favorite verses too!
Great shot and what a lovely idea!!! I also try to journal either a Scripture verse that stands out for me, or some paragraph or sentence from my devotional book!!!
Yes, yes I do! About two years ago I heard someone suggest underlining the verses that stood out while reading Psalms, and for the first time, I was able to read all the way through :) I like the idea of writing them in a notebook though.
I started my journal by collecting all the names God was called. It was amazing and took me deeper into the Bible. My maiden name was Kelly and the family motto 'Turris Fortis Mihi Deus' God is a strong tower to me, exemplifies what God has come to mean to me.
