Stump Puffballs, Aptly Named

The last 3 times I've been out, the woods were absolutely overrun with fungi! My next 50 posts will probably be interesting mushrooms I've found. Sorry, but are they not beautiful? ;)

Same here on Beaver Island -- so many more mushrooms than we usually have, and an incredible variety. BUT, nothing like your stump of puffballs!

@taffy Strange, isn't it? We also have an overabundance of walnuts, acorns, etc. Looks like a tough winter coming up. Ha ha! ;)
