I've never tried growing this from seed but apparently it's worth doing. From what I've read you have to collect the seeds (which are very sticky), rub them in detergent, rinse them and dry them out before planting... which seems a bit odd because mother nature seems to cope without all that!
@shirleybankfarm@gijsje - Pittisporum is a useful shrub which is often used by flower arrangers because of the attractive leaves. We have several varieties in our garden, but my favourite is a silver variegated one which gives a nice colour contrast to the predominant green.
@nitrogene - yes, I'm sure they have good reason for all those complex instructions but I prefer to keep it natural and simple even if that means less success :)
