This little wild flower of the mint family is so called because (in the words of Culpeper the 17th Century herbalist and physician) "... whereby when you are hurt, you may heal yourself...it is an especial herb for inward or outward wounds. Take it inwardly in syrups for inward wounds, outwardly in unguents and plasters for outward." However, I've never tried!
wonderful capture of the flower, it's very similar to a flower on a herb I have that I was told is a kind of catmint. I love the layers of tiny flowers in this - fav!
