Late blackberries

It's been quite a long season for blackberries this year and there are still plenty ripening in the hedgerows

They do look lovely and fresh but I wonder what they taste like. My mother used to say not to pick blackberries after the 30th September and I never have as the taste seems to change dramatically.

@flowerfairyann A lot of what's around now is a bit over ripe but it depends where they are and how much sun they get. Those that aren't in direct sun for long seem to be absolutely fine even now.
