Wildfowl on the Somerset Levels

These are some of the wildfowl that over-winter on the Somerset Levels within West Sedgemoor Rspb reserve. It is one of the UK's largest remaining wet meadows that has been saved and managed by the RSPB to provide vital sanctuary for visiting wildfowl. It's not open to the public so that it can be kept undisturbed for the shy flocks of ducks such as wigeon, teal, pintail, shoveller and waders such as godwit, snipe, lapwing and golden plover. You can only view the birds from a distance but even so it's great to see them!
It's lovely to see so many birds and the RSPB are doing a great job Fav
