Littlest Onion picker.. by julzmaioro

Littlest Onion picker..

As I drove past the Onion field today there were some 'Onion Pickers' starting to pick them up.. seems the whole family were out.. and this little one was sitting on her own learning the ropes..
I guess they are use to it and this is the norm for them .. there were two little ones and then a couple of bigger boy's that were helping... Do you think this could qualify as 'Street Photography'.. our camera club set subject this month... I was on the street, and a shot of everday people doing their everyday things...
I really love this - will be interesting to see what others think, as to whether it fits the criteria. I really don't know, but this is a very nice pic.

I grew up in West Texas in the 50's. Cotton pickers followed the cotton crop across the southern United States and when they were in my town their children of all ages picked cotton alongside the adults. There was no spoiling of those little ones, they worked and earned their way in life.

Great perspective shot -- love the low POV and "tiny person"

@deborah63 onions still in the field of several acres.. her family were only a short sistance away but I did like her apparent isolation..

How sweet and like your perspective

Like the juxtaposition of one sweet child to a huge amount of strong bitter onions.
