We put a wood stove insert in our basement fireplace. It is so nice having wood heat. We hang out downstairs all the time now. The cats also love the wood stove (the fluffy dog, not so much). One thing about having a wood stove is that you spend a lot of time, splitting, stacking and bringing wood inside. Here is a picture of the bucket we have to keep wood inside. Felt like an appropriate thing to take a picture of today.
I love the shading on this! We heat with a pellet stove, much like a wood stove. Our house is so odd we don't have vents so it's all we can heat with. I grew up in the city where we did have a furnace so it's kinda new to me. I do like it a lot, but even less since we don't have cold nights, even in Michigan!
I love this composition. Great with the black in the background. We also used to heat with wood, but switched out the stove for a gas stove, so now we push a button to light the fire.
