Avalanche creek

I asked the bus driver if there were any falls of water i could get to in the 20 minutes we were stopped at Arthur's Pass, first he directed me to the toilets, then said he didnt know! i followed a small track to a stone bridge over this pretty creek just behind the church, I showed him my photos and wondered that he didnt know it was there, he said why should I? you are the first person who has ever asked me! and did i have a spiritual need to visit the waterfall? I just wanted to breathe the beautiful air, he would rather have an expensive coffee sat in the cafe.
