@steveandkerry much maligned, they can bite and leave you itchy and sore for a bit , much like a beesting, but according to a recent study they are not responsible for the flesh-eating sores some people get . dont really want to try it out though! my Dad got one in his shirt once and it bit him a few times before he realised what it was, and it wasnt pleasant

@dkbarnett they are definitely fascinating, i am glad of the size difference though! only about 3cm this one, it was rather fat, i think a female.
