Another tip I learned from the People and Places Workshop presented by National Geographic photographers Jim Richardson and Catherine Karnow had to do with creating better stories with your pictures. So, the next morning, while sharing this with my Theatre Appreciation students, I asked permission to take a few shots of this student. Experimenting with some of the tips learned at the workshop, I used my podium to frame the subject, then asked his classmate to banter with him in order to get him to loosen up for a more candid shot. This one was his favorite.
Great job putting what you learned into action. You are telling a story here. I wonder who this sympathetic young with the amused expression is, who he is responding to, and what he is doing in the classroom setting. I like how you used the podium to frame the shot. Well done, Kareen! And, thanks again for sharing!
