Separated

This is one of my ewe mothers who has separated from the other flock. She chose to sit by the shed. This is one of the signs they are about to give birth. She seems so peaceful, so we still wait.
Great image Kathy the shadows are superb as is the detail in the ewe!

Great shot Kathy - will she stay outside or do you take her in the barn?

@paul2782 Thank you Paul!
@worthitall Thank you Rashella!
@shirleytemple Thanks Shirley! When they are due to give birth I bring them into the barn lot! This is really for me so that I do not constantly search the field. When they separate they go as far away from other as they can. After they give birth in the barn lot I bring ewe and lamb into a jug in the barn so they can bond. This is when I record, tag and make sure the mother has enough milk for her lambs.

Thanks for explaining that - sounds like a lot of work Kathy. Do you have a lot of ewes that will be birthing?

Love the soft sunlight on this mother as she awaits her baby. How do your dogs handle the sheep separating from the flock?
