Fire and Glass (1961-1962)

Today it wasn´t easy to select only one photo, there were too many interesting shots because of a trip to the city / a gallery. Finally I choose this one. I like the colours. Most of my pictures here are too colourless I think.
Today it was a rainy day in the city and these colours bring a completely different feeling.

The authors - Czech artists Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová are known for their experiments with glass. Due to a very demanding process, the sculpture took three years of planning (1958-1960). The authors developed a new technique enabling them to create unusually large and elaborate monoliths in various colours and types of glass mixtures. Each piece of glass was a technological experiment. The individual glass sculptures were made using a mould-melting method where small pieces of glass are poured into a mould and melted at a high temperature in the glass furnace until they filled the mould. Then the glass cooled for several months.
