My son and his friend share the same birthdate. So tonight we celebrated their 8th birthday together with a BBQ and of course cake. The candles got lit twice so they could each blow them out.
Despite the celebrations in our own houses, the day came with some sad news about a local teenager who passed away today. Two of his friends are also battling life threatening injuries after a horrific car accident. My thoughts and condolences go out to their family and friends. We live in a small town and this news has shocked the community.
What a wonderful way to celebrate! When I was young, a friend and I had one of our birthday parties together since they were so close and that is one of my favorite childhood memories. So sad to hear about the local teenagers, though. That's so sad. My thoughts with their families.
