I seem to be taking photos a day before I post them! What a change. Actually I took this yesterday for the people theme but I really wanted to post the school supplies photo to include it in my project. This is my oldest son. I was just trying some different angles.
Great lighting and clarity, especially on the eye. Here's the oddest thing...when I started a few years ago really getting into photography, I learned from a photographer friend that the most important thing about taking photos of people, birds, and other creatures, is to always focus on the eyes. That even if you capture a beautiful eagle in flight, everything in focus, each feather detailed, but not the eyes...the viewer will instantly know something is wrong and will subconsciously disregard the entire photo. Odd right?
@losthorizon It is funny how that works. I was told the same thing, and I tend to delete any photo when the eye isn't in focus now, even if I like the photo.
Same here. The other day I had this amazing shot, my youngest smiling. Was so natural, and infectious. But his eyes were completely out of focus. Totally took away from the photo.
