For 15 years I've followed this driver. I saw him race in his rookie year when he made several mistakes and lost his race seat for the following year. I watched when he almost became world champion in 2008 but lost it by a single point in the very last lap of the last race to Lewis Hamilton. I was watching the qualifying session in 2009 when he crashed at high speed after getting hit in the head by a suspension spring from the car in front of him. He spent a week in ICU and 6 months recovering before he was cleared to keep racing. And now I've watched him in person, retire from a race due to technical issues!!
It's been a dream to watch him race live, and that dream finally came true this weekend. It was so much fun going away without the kids and enjoying a big event like this. And of course a big Thank You to all who helped out with the kids while we were away. You guys rock!!
This is majorly cropped as I didn't have a good zoom lens, but I wanted to use it anyway.
