I'm so proud of my daughter's swimming this season. It's her first season swimming for a club and competing in races. 2 weeks ago she was last in her 100m freestyle race, coming in to a round of applause because she finally finished. This week she won the same race in her heat taking nearly 40 secs off her time, and went on to swim even faster in the final, only to be disqualified for moving her foot on the starting blocks. It's actually her first time even using them, for the last few meets she just dived from the end of the pool. Swimming is harsh, but she won't make that mistake again. She really does love it which is great to see.
Wow - what a great improvement. A harsh call, but as you set, a great learning time and the world is full of rules that need to be learned. A great pov for this lovely, busy image. Interesting to note that the timekeepers are all men (from what we can see in this image anyway!)
@dide Thanks Dianne. The kids do learn from their DQ's!! Funnily enough there are just as many women time keepers, but in this shot it was all men. Each club has to volunteer 3 timekeepers for both the morning and the afternoon sessions (parents).
My daughter has been swimming with a club for years and I can never get such a well lit and clear picture of her under those lights. Well done, both for her fantastic improvement and your photo!
