Oh my gosh... hope he was a friendly bear.. My Daughter Donna trooped all over BC hoping to see a bear .. guess she just needed to come to your house..
@tracys@julzmaioro Yes the kids saw him, but I made sure they stayed quiet so I could get a photo. Once he heard us he wandered off and climbed the fence. Julia certain years we have more bears in town than others. This year there have been a lot around, especially now in the shoulder season.
Well, I wouldn't want the children out there if this might occur! Perhaps the bear is so big that you are bound to see him and then keep out of his way! Super shot of one so close!
@maggiemae We have a fenced yard, and up until this year I've not seen a bear inside the fence (although there has been signs they've come inside the fence in past years). They kids could easily have come across him by accident, infact last week they came inside to tell me there was a mother and cubs right outside our gate. There are a lot of fruit trees around town that attact the bears, but we are very cautious of them and the bears usually walk away when they see humans.
I heard on the radio how an 80yr old lady was trapped inside her house for three days because an 'angry flock of seagulls' wouldn't let her out. This bear would keep me inside for sure!
