Gingerbread community

The two grade 1-2 classes at school have been working on a community project for the last couple of months. They spent time in town visiting local businesses and meeting "community experts". With the help of their older buddies they also measured all the buildings downtown and drew up plans for the building of our town in gingerbread. They selected a colour scheme and then with the help of parents they built our downtown and our ski hill buildings from graham crackers and candy. Now they are selling tickets to raffle off the different sections of the project. The money they raise is going towards local families in need this Christmas. It's been a very inspiring project and the finish product looks amazing.

Oh how lovely from so many angles. the learning, the building, family involvement, giving to others in need. Not to mention creativity and fun! Well done on such a worthy project all round. Love all the snow and the lines down the middle of the road.
