We spent the night at the Provincial Park, and just at sunset the kids and me had a quick dip. It had been a really hot day, and probably the most smokey of our trip so far.
The kids were fine after the dip, however the following morning we also went for a quick swim and nearly every kid came down with swimmers itch. It wasn't something I'd experienced before, but the poor kids were instantly scratching at their skin to varying degrees. Luckily us adults hadn't gone in, well I went in to my thighs but I wasn't affected. I felt terrible for them, they were crying and in so much discomfort. It took days to recover, and a week or so before the spots disappeared. Not a nice thing to experience.
